Mini Bags at Work.

Life is a world full of big people situation, from that failed text message to your boy toy about that lunch date for the weekend. Or your BFF is not in the mood too hang ten with you, when she just went through the Mt.Everest in understanding her relationship status as single. Yeah, life is filled with a lot of sucky situations that we all have to face. And the worst part is, why are we pulling a big tote around with our emotions in it, when we can carry a mini bag and look super cute?

I mean the logic here is that the bigger the bag, the more room we can stuff it with our feelings from hell. And let's be real here, who seriously wants to carry a bag like that with them all day, and deal with the feels that will only bring us down after a long day of shopping. I surely don't want to, and the last time I checked none of us don't want to deal with them feels. That's why there ice cream people, it helps a lot.

So now back on the track of logic, if we carry a big bag with all the feelings in it. Then we should carry a mini bag and then be selective with our emotions that we carry. I know it took me forever to figure this out too so we are on the same sailboat here. Like with a bag that small we can at lest deal with are feelings now...right?

This is where things can get a tad tricky, and I'm not taking about the selection of the bag, as that can get hard too. But, I mean the emotions that we can force into our bags. I mean my Coach Penny bag in fuchsia is so small and I have to fit all my feelings into it.

So with logic on my side, happiness is my wallet, and well my full size wallet is not going to fit in this poor baby. I down sized it into my Fossil coin purse in Tiffany blue. (Im not limiting my happiness here as I still am carrying the same things that I need, but in a smaller size of cuteness.) Then my Coach coin purse is hunger and I just keep it as is, I'm a always hungers so that's not changing anytime soon. Then my stress is in my flash drive for school and my school ID, that goes in the front pocket to be away from my other feelings. And there is freedom as it is founded in my keys. (I drive a Saturn VUE, she's not super pretty but she is my BFF that is in silver.) Then sadness stays at home, because I ran out of room in my bags to fit it in .

I know what your thinking, this sounds so lame and why are you placing your feelings into objects that have no real life purpose at all. Well it's pretty simple, we carry all of these items with is on the daily. And we also most likely all carry our feelings on the same shoulder we carry our bags.

So when looking at it from that prospective, we should all be carrying our emotions that we only need and that makes us happy to be who we are. Why are are we carrying around all this extra unneeded baggage with us. That's why there's the magic of the mini bag it's so little because it makes us be selective on what we need to carry.

So, it's not really doing anything more then makeing us happy at the end of the day from shopping. Plus, it's so cute, and so tiny, and kinda not proportional to our body's that's makes them so adorable. So mini bags are awesome in style and awesome psychotherapist at work in our wardrobes.

Denim heaven is real

Im the kind of person that doesn't care for denim that much, it's there and at the same time it's not there. I could go for any other textile in the world, but denim not so much. Until last week when I stumbled in to the whole section of denim shirts at TJmaxx late one night. And, might I say that it was mind blowing a experience in all the right ways. Not that brain matter flew around, but that I was lost into a fantasy land made of clothes.

I mean dear god it was all so soft and all oh so blue. But, I won't lie it was kind of a challenge to pick out one shirt that I loved. The prejudgment of I had of denim was already negative. However, looking at them all gave me a since of "opes I was wrong about denim" and more of the feeling "of wow is that a cropped denim shirt, oh wait this is a child's small."

So hours later, knowing that I needed to do my papers for class and working on a presentation due tomorrow. I had to make up my mind, do I go for the trendy ombré, the woren light wash, the throwback acid wash, or the fresh out of the factory dark wash. This gave me a headache that no large coke from McDonald's could handle.

So it was then I found the good averge of the four. The medium wash, with my kind of logic that took forever for me to figure that out. But this was a pretty chic might I say, it was extremely soft to the fingers with the classic stiffness of denim and also for me it was in a medium.

As I began to walk to the counter for check out, and get home to start on that delayed paper I hade to write. I also found another shirt that was just hanging there as the store lights made it glow with grace. And no it was not cropped or a child's small. But a medical scientific descovery that I could have cried over for days with no need for the compensation of ice cream that could stop it. It was a Vince denim shirt made with love in every stitch, and schockingly for only $49.99, I did not cry but I sure did run to that check out like a mad women on crack. And when at that counter I felt the feeling of happiness fill my little heart.

So the moral of the story was that never  have prejudgment on denim as it is so amazing on your body. Second, don't do your projects when you can go shopping late at night to find the deals of your life. And finally don't run to the check out like a made woman as I did almost fall flat on my face.

Today work in class...

Today was an interesting day at the library here at Parkview high school, first I read on some of the experience of people and the trivialities of 9/11. So I had a good time reading and understanding how they felt as another background, and not being white and giving insight and looking at the National situation. This also helped me as a listener to understand how different people look at situations like this.

The next thing on are life agenda was to do the Harvard University implicit bias, this test I had a mild problem with this test. One I think I failed the test because I had made so many errors on it that my answer was unable to be calculated. Second this test forces the idea of subjectivity to a person who is taking this test. As the test was conducted it made it where the bias was meant to happen, so the test itself was in a way built on the idea of biased. Then finally the photos where cropped to the point of no return, I thought some of the people on there where like not even white or black but rather Mexican or Asian. So this in the end I did not like this test because the idea of biased is so subjective to a person that this test failed to pick up on that. So this test gets an F.

Final I watched a video on a Class Divvied and I wish that this could happen now. The test was conducted where race was out of the equation, but the teacher used the color of eye color. I enjoyed to see the test and how it was conducted and that the kids in away how decimation is harmful and that it could happen with any group. But also that I found it was interesting to see how the minds of children where flexible to the situation and that they reacted fast to how the fl0ow of punishment went from the brown eyed, to the blue eyed. Also it highlighted how groups with power had the ability to always point the finger to the minority in the case was the brown eyed. So in the end I had a wonderful time watching this video.

Book Review 4 Man Repeller: Seeking Love, Finding Overalls- Brandon Nguyen

"If people remember nothing else about me when all is said and done, they should remember my other life mantra: when in doubt, add a motorcycle jacket. Heck, even when not in doubt, just add a motorcycle jacket."  This is probably the best quote in the book Man Repeller: Seeking Love, Finding Overalls by Leandra Medine. In the book she uses fashion as the highlights of her life, and a reference to remembering those memories she had in the past good and bad.

She is called a Man Repeller for her fashion choices, from high wasted denim mom friendly jeans to the selective use of her crop tops. She also turn looks that are man getting to Man Repelling with a turban and a stack of arm parties to the high havens. I was happy when crossing this line in the book, because in a way I wish I could be just like her, be known for my fashion and maybe nothing else. Her fashion is fun and energetic with a combination of colors, prints and lavish accessories.

In the book she has a mild tension between the ideas of more is more and at times less is more, and this quote backs her more is more theory. Where there is never too much, and that if you’re going to leave the house remember to stack on another set of bracelets by Lavin. I enjoy this kind of mentality from her, as she states earlier in her book of the weight problems that she dealt with and that she was also taught in a traditional Jewish school, where she had to dress modestly as it was being a prestigious school in Manhattan. This is in a way her reaction to that restraint, as she is now able to be care free with her fashion.

Another aspect of this quote I like a lot is that people in this world are going to think of you in different ways. And that the most powerful impact to help them remember is the way you dress and how you carry yourself. So if you have the one goal of being remembered in the night, to Man Repellers standards, just wear a t-shirt with high wasted jeans and a chunky Celine chain necklace and the mini Clair bag by Chloe will surely help you with that goal.

(This is a photo of Leandra in a all double denim look with a motorcycle jacket, and some crazy shoes.)
